A Note on a Greenhouse Evaluation of Wild Arachis Species for Resistance to Athelia rolfsii

چکیده

ABSTRACT Athelia rolfsii (Curzi) C.C. Tu & Kimbr. is the one of most damaging pathogens cultivated peanut, causing soilborne disease known regionally as white mold, stem rot, or southern blight. Because genetic base for peanut narrow, wild Arachis species may possess novel sources resistance. We evaluated 18 accessions representing 15 (batizocoi, benensis, cardenasii, correntina, cruziana, diogoi, duranensis, herzogii, hoehnei, kempff-mercadoi, kuhlmannii, microsperma, monticola, simpsonii, williamsii) in greenhouse resistance to At. rolfsii. Assays were conducted on intact plants propagated from rooted cuttings inoculated with mycelial plugs, and lesion length growth measured at 4, 6, 10, 12 days after inoculation. For length, batizocoi (PI 468326 PI 468327), A. kuhlmannii 468159 susceptible entries a mean >50 mm microsperma 666096 674407) diogoi 468354 had shortest lesions lengths ≤16 cruziana 476003 two PIs highest area under progress curves (AUDPCs), lowest AUDPC was obtained 674407. Mycelial correlated except monticola 497260. These results be useful geneticists seeking additional

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...

Resistance to thrips (Enneothrips flavens) in wild and amphidiploid Arachis species

Thrips (Enneothrips flavens) is a pest that causes severe damage and yield losses to peanut crop if not properly controlled. The main control method currently used by farmers is bi-weekly application of insecticides during crop development, which, in addition to its toxicity, is very costly. Thus, new sources of resistance must be identified in order to reduce the use of insecticides and effect...

Successful crosses between fungal-resistant wild species of Arachis (section Arachis) and Arachis hypogaea

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) is the fifth most produced oil crop worldwide. Besides lack of water, fungal diseases are the most limiting factors for the crop. Several species of Arachis are resistant to certain pests and diseases. This study aimed to successfully cross the A-genome with B-K-A genome wild species previously selected for fungal disease resistance, but that are still untested. We als...
